The Comic
Lots of comics are funny, and Candy Smokes can be from time to time, but it’s also somber and contemplative. Since humor is highly subjective, every story will resonate with at least one reader. From time to time. Oh, and Candy Smokes is a drabble – which is a short story that’s exactly 100 words long. The concept came from Monty Python in the 70’s, as many brilliant ideas have. As challenging as it sounds, the goal of every installment is to create characters, tell a story and give a conclusion in 100 words (again, exactly).

The Author
I don’t think that anyone has ever had everything figured out. Life is too complicated, and everyone’s mood and situations change with time. So I decided instead of whining about the point of it all to self-important hipsters in a coffee shop, I’d document it and have some fun. I write and create the art for Candy Smokes. I live in Milwaukee, and consequently like beer. I have a degree in journalism, so I’m an amateur professional at looking up the criminal records of new people I meet.
